Due to harrassing and offensive topics in public channels on
NEW-Enterprises IRC Network, directed both at specific users and
staff, and multiple complaints about the same subjects by multiple
users, the Staff and Admins of NEW-Enterprises IRC network decided to
restrict the use of the list of words below in the topics of public
channels.
Please note that NEW-Enterprises IRC Network staff does not want to be in the role of censors, but to protect our users from harrassments in the form of unacceptable topics we used as a guidline a list of words that are censored from public media.
Use of these words in a public channels topic will result in a Staff member requesting that the topic be either changed or the channel be set to private (+p) or secret (+s). Refusal to do so will result in a Services Admin or designated staff member reviewing the situation with ramifications up to and including suspension of the channel or the channel being dropped and forbidden.
So, folks lets use some common sense, and
when you set your topic ask yourself this: Would you want your child,
mother, father, wife, husband, sister, brother, friend to see the
topic? Is it being set with the intent to hurt or harrass users or
staff? If it is then it's probably best left in private,
discuss it in your channel, discuss it in emails with your friends,
but it won't be appropriate in Public Channel Topics. Please
help to keep NEW-Enterprises IRC network a fun and safe place to chat
and have fun.
Thank you,
NEW-Enterprises
Server Admins and Staff
